4 Ways To Keep Your New Year Resolutions All Year Resolutions

Stay On Track With Your Goals for the Year

2019 is in full swing, with January already behind us.  It’s important to revisit some of the promises we made for ourselves at the start of the year. Here are 4 ways to stay on track with your New Year resolutions.

Vision Boards

If you haven’t made one of these already, now’s your chance. Quite simply, a vision board is a visual compilation of your dreams and goals. Inspirational photos from magazines, print out quotes, calendars, and photographs of friends, family, and places to where you’re planning to travel to next – one glance at your board will instantly remind you of what you really want to achieve.

Calendars

Writing out your goals is one thing is completely different from scheduling and creating a calendar to help you obtain that goal. For example, if your goal was to get into better shape this year, create a calendar and detail exactly how you’re going to do that. Whether that be going to the gym on Monday’s, Wednesday’s, and Friday’s, or choosing one day of the week to walk to work – making a schedule will definitely help you achieve both your short term & long term goals.

Journaling

Keeping a detailed journal of your progress always helps. Taking a look back at your progress can help you decide if your goal is too easily achieved/too challenging and whether your goal needs a little bit of tweaking. Spending just five minutes at the end of the day detailing your progress can help you put your plan into action.

Form Healthy Habits

Whether this includes drafting multiple lists, colour-coding your agendas, or even tying a ribbon around your finger – the key is to keep a positive mindset and stay dedicated. Studies show that focusing on one action and repeating that action in the same context (same time and same place) will help you create that healthy foundation much easier for long lasting change.
