Celine Dion is gearing up to launch her first collection of accessories and handbags.
The French-Canadian music icon is partnering with The Bugatti Group on a line of handbags, luggage and small leather goods, with the full range set to be stocked in stores internationally from September.
“As a woman who loves fashion, I am very excited to start a partnership with The Bugatti Group,” said Celine in a statement. “Their vision toward my brand is impressive, and their passion for fashion is as intense as mine. So, guess what… we’re going to have a really good time together! And hopefully, all will enjoy the new collection.”
Executives for Montreal-based Bugatti, which produces and sells accessories under its namesake brand, stated that the upcoming fall/winter 2017 collection will include more than 200 high-end and affordable pieces, and reflect the My Heart Will Go On singer’s “sensibility, elegance, practicality and desire for high-quality goods.”
Spearheading the 48-year-old’s fashion deals are Epic Rights, a global branding, licensing and marketing company, and Prominent Brand + Talent, a strategic management consortium.
“She is a global superstar who also happens to be a working mum that demands good value in anything that carries her name,” said Dan Levin, principal at Prominent Brand + Talent. “This is just the beginning as we continue to identify partners across many categories to further develop her unique lifestyle brand.”
Celine’s foray into the fashion world is the latest chapter in a 30-year career that includes five Grammys, two Oscars and record sales of over 200 million copies worldwide.
Her latest venture isn’t much of a surprise, considering that she was spotted at a number of top fashion shows for Christian Dior and Giambattista Valli during Paris Fashion Week in September, and has revamped her image via the inclusion of more contemporary looks after engaging celebrity stylist Law Roach.
