desiFEST – She Rocks
This year, desiFEST presents She Rocks. This is a new addition to this year’s 10th annual desiFEST.
Headliner Jasmine Sandlas, songwriter, singer and performer who has been featured on the MTV Coke Studio and Spoken Word platforms, will entertain the Toronto audience with Bollywood and Punjabi music.
Sandlas’s first song, ‘Muskaan’ written by Lalie Gill was a great success worldwide. In 2012, she received considerable fame and acclaim with her album ‘Gulabi’. Her single Punjab De Javak in 2015 and Underground Album ‘The Diamond’ boosted her career. She has sung a number of songs for Bollywood including ‘Kick’, for which she did the song called ‘DevilYaar Naa Miley’ with YoYo Honey Singh.
This will be the first time that Sandlas will be performing in Toronto. She will be performing alongside Sachel, Lady Parul and Urvah Khan who will also present music. She Rocks plans to recognize DJ Amita for her help and support over the past 20 years in pushing South Asian music, opening doors for upcoming artists and being a true music pioneer.

The inaugural lineup spotlights five individuals breaking down stereotypes, changing perceptions and inspiring a new generation of female artists” said Sathish Bala, founder, desiFEST.
