DIY Face and Body Exfoliator
With winter weather still around us, and (hopefully soon) warm weather among us, exfoliating is key in your beauty regime. Exfoliating helps to remove dead skin, which allows for softness and smoothness, as well as add that healthy glow back into your skin. There are some great exfoliators on the market, but this recipe is one that I always find myself going back to. It’s inexpensive, quick, and does the job far better than most store bought exfoliators. You can use it on your face or on your body; it leaves your skin super soft and moisturized!
You will need brown sugar, and some olive oil. Mix the two together until you get a nice consistency – you want to have enough olive oil to moisturize, but not too much, as you still want to be able to feel the granules in the brown sugar. Make sure the mixture isn’t too oily as it won’t exfoliate properly, and not too dry either, as you don’t want any harshness on the skin. Once you have a good mixture, you can use this scrub on your face, and on your body to remove dead skin or prior to makeup application, or as part of your morning/night time skincare routine. The best part is, there aren’t any harsh chemicals in this exfoliator so you probably don’t need to worry, especially if you have very sensitive skin like mine.
