To celebrate 10 years of being one of the top designer labels in Canada, Greta Constantine held a ‘Poolside Prom’
Greta Constantine is a glamourous, luxury ready-to-wear women’s clothing based here in Toronto, Canada.
Designers Kirk Pickersgill and Stephen Wong create flirty, sophisticated and elegant pieces that appeal to a cosmopolitan, empowered, smart woman. They have rapidly accumulated a clientele comprised of international socialites and celebrities alike since starting their label in 2006. Some of their A-list clientele include: Jennifer Hudson, Carly Rae Jepsen, Coco Rocha, Nelly Furtado, Angelina Jolie, Abigail Breslin, Sarah Polley, Jessica Pare, Enuka Okuma and Naomi Campbell.
The intimate gathering of their ‘Poolside Prom’ was a showcase teaser for their upcoming Paris show in October. Guests walked through a white and maroon balloon arch into a dream
garden where a pair of well-toned, bare-torsoed men clad in greeted them with corsages and boutonnieres.
Models wandered around the beautiful gardens and pool channeling 80’s supermodel elite dressed in silhouettes from the duo’s 2017 spring collection; silk tulle overlays featuring voluminous sleeve detailings, boned bustiers, and exaggerated ruffles, atop rust-, metal-, and copper-hued slip dresses. The minimalist-maximalist tension that underlined each look, as well as the emphasis on semi-transparent fabrications, loaned a darkly romantic air as night fell and the temperature rose.
With sundown nearing, attendees were treated to an invigorating performance from the Toronto Cheer Athletics Titans. Clad in custom-made grape microfiber tanks with ruffle trim by Greta Constantine, the gaggle of girls marched out of the residence with pompoms in tow. Members of the Titans then flipped and tossed in a number of pyramid routine stunts all the while chanting a cheer marking the evening’s celebration.
