New York Fashion Week Hair Trend: Zac Posen SS 2016 & Pola Thomson SS 2016

New York Fashion Week took place last month, September 10-17, and as usual, there is a ton to talk about it! Aside from the amazing collections on the runway, lets talk hair.

One of my favourite hair care lines (can you guess which one?) – yes, of course, Moroccanoil – and its talented artists were behind the hair trend statement for some of the designers’ collections. Zac Posen’s SS2016 collection, and Pola Thomson’s SS 2016 collection were two that showcased this trend. Celebrities, such as, Kim Kardashian, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Nicole Richie have also been wearing this trend lately. Yes, you guessed it; it’s the clean, slick low bun/pony tail.

Odile Gilbert, for Moroccanoil, was behind the slick, clean look for Zac Posen’s SS2016 collection. With the use of Moroccanoil products, this effortless look can be achieved. I love the slick look just because of how simple, yet clean it looks. It allows for a full face to be seen, and for the outfits and/or makeup to really stand out.

Here are some backstage shots, captured by Stephen Churchill Downes, for Moroccanoil.

In Digital, for Moroccanoil, also captured some stunning shots on the runway in Posen’s designs. As you can see, not all of the models rocked the slicked hair tied; yet their locks still remain clean and in place, with an effortless look. (PS. HOW gorgeous is this collection by Zac Posen, as all the others have been)

Antonio Corral Calero, Global Moroccanoil Ambassador also created these gorgeous slicked back looks on the models for Pola Thomson’s SS 2016 Collection. I love how the hair on each of the models turned out in these images captured by David Webber for Moroccanoil.

It appears as though these looks were created by parting the hair, using a brush with soft, thick bristles (almost like a teasing brush, but not for teasing), and hair spraying the hair into place – before styling it into a low bun, pony tail etc. I love the accessory in the hair that Antonio added – it adds such a gorgeous touch to the look.

The slicked back, or clean look looks like it’s pretty easy…right, I mean, how hard can it be to brush your hair flat, into place and then tie it up, right? WRONG. I’ve spent hours trying to perfect a look like this, and trust me, it’s not easy. I will definitely be trying out a brush similar to the one Antonio is pictured using, in order to brush all of my hair, and then spraying it with my Moroccanoil hair spray (as I know it’s fantastic and keeps your hair locked into place!).

Try out this look for yourself, with the help of Moroccanoil products. You may just discover your go-to hairstyle!
