Your Workout Wagon

Are you feeling sluggish and in a rut when it comes to working out? Or, you feel that you get started and then something happens in life and you fall off the wagon, yet again? You’re not alone it happens to all of us at some point in our life. We are not perfect, however, for our own wellbeing we have to get back on that wagon. Here are some quick ways to get your motivation again.

Start small

By far the most important way to get started is to make your workouts short. Even 5 to 10 minutes is a great start, your first goal should always be to make it a habit.

Keep it simple

To get back into it, keep your workouts simple, this way if you’re not feeling up to it you know it’s nice and easy. However, once you get started you might start to get more energy and feel like doing more, so at this point increase your intensity.

Give yourself a break

We all have bad days and sometimes no matter how hard we try we just cannot get to our workout. Those days give yourself a break and get back on the wagon the next day. Or, if you have had a bad morning there is always the afternoon or evening. There is no reason to waste the whole day.

Keep a visual

Grab a calendar, paper or on your phone, and each day you exercise mark it on your calendar. By looking at your calendar you will visually be able to see how many days you have exercised and hopefully that will keep you motivated.

Believe in yourself

So many people do it and so can you! Like with anything it is always hard to get started, but with a little effort know that you can do it. Never give up, keep going at a slow and steady pace and just imagine where you will be a year from now.
