After four years and 100 million dollars, one of the world’s leading lifestyle innovators is blowing competitors away. Dyson has released the Supersonic™ Hair dryer.
“Hair dryers can be heavy, inefficient and make a racket. By looking at them further we realized that they can also cause extreme heat damage to hair,” explains James Dyson. “ I challenged Dyson engineers to really understand the science of hair and develop our version of a hair dryer, which we think solves these problems.”
Dyson engineers spent years studying hair from the root to tip. They built 600 prototypes and tested on over 1,010 miles of human hair to come up with The Dyson Supersonic™. A patented V9 digital motor that is light and compact, sits in the handle of the blow dryer.
I got to test out the dryer myself and besides the cool design I was very impressed with the weight and the power. Though it can get really hot fast, unlike other blow dryers that tend to overheat, the Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer has intelligent heat control to ensure hair isn’t exposed to excessive temperatures. A glass bead thermistor measures the temperature 20 times a second and transmits this data to the microprocessor, which intelligently controls the patented double-stacked heating element.
The Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer has four heat settings, including a cold shot, and three airflow settings. It also comes with 3 attachments (smoothing nozzle, style concentrator, diffuser) that are magnetic. This means you don’t have to screw them on or worry about clipping them in with the plastic clips (that usually break). They also have special heat shield technology that keeps them from getting hot.
Do I like this Hair Dryer? Yes! Its stylish, lightweight, doesn’t over heat or shut off by itself and best of all it doesn’t suck in my hair!! It’s priced at $499.99 which is a little more pricey than your average blow dryer, but for something this good and long lasting I think its worth it.
