Disney Unveils Another Original Lin-Manuel Miranda Song From ‘Moana’

Broadway show Hamilton has made everyone a fan of Lin-Manuel Miranda and this will continue to increase with the music he has provided for Disney’s upcoming animated movie Moana. Disney released an original song penned by Miranda, ‘How Far I’ll Go’. Alessia Cara has become the voice of this beautifully uplifting song. The Canadian singer-songwriter conveys Moana’s uncertainty combined with her determination to get through the difficulties she might face on her journey to become a master Wayfinder and save the civilization of her island in the Pacific Ocean.

Miranda’s music combined with lyrics like –

See the line where the sky meets the sea? It calls me

And no one knows, how far it goes

If the wind on my sail on the sea stays behind me

One day I’ll know, if I go there’s just no telling how far I’ll go

– is bound to inspire fledglings! And the percussion towards the climax of the song is just precious.

According to a report in Entertainment Weekly, the song will appear twice in the movie. One version which appears during the movie is sung by Auli’i Cravalho who is voicing Moana, and the second version will come up when the end credits role. The version in the audio released by Disney is the second one.
