WE Day Celebrates All

WE Day 2016 is coming to Toronto on October 19 at the Air Canada Centre.

WE is a movement that brings people together and gives them the tools to change the world. A unique family of organizations, WE is made up of a charitable division and a social enterprise, which empower people to make a difference at home and globally.

This year WE Day Toronto will feature various artists and speakers. It will feature Jason Derulo, Macklemore, Lilly Singh, Hedley, Winnie Harlow, Chris Hadfield, Penny Oleksiak, Jacob Tremblay, Paula Abdul, Margaret Trudeau, Jordan Smith, Bridgit Mendler, Bailee Madison, Mia Farrow, Kweku Mandela, Connor Franta, Michael “Pinball” Clemons, DEGRASSI’s Ana Golja and Richard Walters, Spencer West and more. This star-studded lineup joins international activists and WE co-founders, Craig and Marc Kielburger, to share their passion for change, international experiences, and energize the crowd with unforgettable performances and motivational speeches.

“WE Day celebrates the amazing young people who have taken action at home and around the world, to create sustainable change for a better tomorrow,” said Craig Kielburger, co-founder of WE. “Standing in a stadium full of passionate youth will affirm your belief that real change can happen—and is happening every single day right here in Ontario.

WE Day is the manifestation of the WE Movement. This is a celebration of people coming together and filling stadiums around the globe to experience the greatest classroom in the world for a full day, live event. Access to the event is earned by taking action on one local and one global cause. WE Day unites world-renowned speakers and award-winning performers with thousands of young people and families to celebrate and inspire another year of incredible change. WE Day celebrates and inspires this generation’s shift from me thinking to we acting, building a better world where everyone has the power to speak out and make choices that have a positive impact.

WE Day events are attended annually by 200,000 students from over 10,000 schools. WE Day inspires, engages and empowers youth to lead through service, building compassionate communities and transforming participants into active world-changers in the process.

Since 2007, youth involved in WE Schools have achieved remarkable results. $79 million raised for more than 6,500 local and global organizations, 27.6 million hours volunteered for local and global causes and 9.8 million pounds of food collected by youth for local food bank.
