MANI JASSAL Created A Beautiful “Garden Of Desire” With Her Latest Collection Of Indian-Inspired Evening And Bridal Wear On The Runway
Evening and bridal wear line MANI JASSAL transported over 250 celebrities, notables, media, influencers, family, and friends to a beautiful “garden of desire” last night with her Indian-inspired collection at ‘1871’ Berkeley Church in Toronto. Having shown to a select industry crowd with a presentation at Toronto Fashion Week® in partnership with RE\SET™ in early February, this was the first time her entire collection, “The Garden of Desire | Erised” was shown on a runway.
Notable attendees included Cindy Sampson (Private Eyes), Gia Sandhu (The Greatest American Hero), Rachael Ancheril (Wynonna Earp), Clara Pasieka (Reign), Grego Minot, Juno nominee Ammoye, Leondro, Christian Dare(Cityline), Youtube stars Harjit Bhandal and Jaz Saini, Shayne Stephens, Gurpreet Ahluwalia, Mel Ashcroft (The Collections) Anjli Patel, and Alicia McNamara (ET Canada).
We were also lucky enough to be in attendance at this event! Here’s a look at the collection:
This collection is inspired by a true narrative written by transformational coach Raz Soos which describes the journey of a young woman finding self-love through brokenness and self-realization through the reflection of another. The show started with a spoken word performance of her piece, followed by a screening of “The Garden of Desire | Erised” fashion film by Tiger House Films.
“It is about her picking up her broken pieces and completely reinventing herself,” explains designer Mani Jassal, “A story where an act of vulnerability, a leap of faith, and a journey inward that gives rise to her most beautiful self, ultimately coming into who she was searching for all along. This tale transcends into the collection through the fabrics, prints, embroidery, and colours to create a collection that empowers women to love themselves.”
The “Garden of Desire | Erised” collection displays both floral and geometric prints through embroidery, lace, and prints. The collection includes a variety of unique fabrics that combine pattern, intricate surface detailing, and colour. Raw silk is used throughout many outfits alongside cotton, organza, chiffon, various laces, with embroidered tulle, ruffle detailing, mirror decals, pleating, beading, glass tassels, and sequins.
MANI JASSAL retails for $210 to $3000 and is available at the MANI JASSAL Showroom located in the Greater Toronto Area and online at manijassal.com with free worldwide shipping.
