Anoushka Shankar – The 2016 Land of Gold Tour
Sitarist, Anoushka Shankar has been nominated for a grammy five times so far. She gained notable attention at the young age of 20 with her first album. Daughter of the late world-renown sitarist, Ravi Shankar, and sister of singer and songwriter, Norah Jones, Anoushka is the first Indian female and youngest-ever Grammy nominee in the World Music category.
This year, Anoushka will tour India with her album, Home, and the U.S. with her newest LP, Land of Gold. Land of Gold is Anoushka’s response, through music, to the humanitarian trauma that people are facing in the Middle East. She is continuously evolving as an artist and this has allowed her to collaborate with other artists such as, M.I.A., Herbie Hancock, Pepe Habichuela, Karsh Kale, Rodrigo y Gabriela, and Joshua Bell.
