Toronto Fashion Week Recap: Day 1 to 3

Night one featured innovative fashion presentations by top Canadian designers including Mikhael Kale, Namesake, Narces, Sid Neigum and Christopher Bates.

On Day One of Toronto Fashion Week®, in collaboration with RE\SET™, top Canadian designers sent models down the runway and in studio showcasing curated SS2019 collections.

Set inside the city’s premier luxury retail destination, Yorkville Village (136 Yorkville Ave.) and throughout the Bloor-Yorkville neighbourhood, the day kicked off with Fashion Talks™, produced in partnership with CAFA™. Host Donna Bishop chatted with Fashion Activist, Elizabeth Peyton-Jones, Founder of The Responsible Trust for Models.

Following Fashion Talks™, Mikhael Kale displayed his collection at the Royal Ontario Museum, followed by runway shows from Victoria Hayes, Kollar Clothing, Mani Jassal, Narces, and Christopher BatesNamesake showcased its collection at LUMAS Gallery, while DISCOVER THIS: shopRE\SET™ held a static presentation in the RE\SET™ Studio. Sid Neigum closed Day One with a runway show held in P2 Yorkville Village.

Day One also held the official launch event for The Endings, the highly-anticipated photography book featuring stories of love, loss, heartbreak, and beginning again from celebrated photographer Caitlin Cronenberg and acclaimed art director Jessica Ennis. As a part of Toronto Fashion Week’s opening night, the book launch featured an interactive, set-inspired photo booth.

Day Two featured innovative fashion presentations by top Canadian designers ZOFF, Hayley Elsaesser, WRKDEPT, Christopher Paunil and HENDRIXROE.

On Day Two of Toronto Fashion Week, top Canadian designers showcased their latest SS2019 designs in the RE\SET™ studio and the runway.

Set inside the city’s premier luxury retail destination, Yorkville Village (136 Yorkville Ave.), the day kicked off with Fashion Talks™, produced in partnership with CAFA™. Host Donna Bishop chatted with some of Canada’s leading film and television costume designers on the process and power of costume design. In the second taping of Fashion Talks™, Donna discussed the power of fashion with Caitlin Cronenberg and Jessica Ennis from their book The Endings: Photographic Stories of Love, Loss, Heartbreak, and Beginning Again.

Day Two saw looks from ZOFF, Alex S. Yu, Hilary MacMillan, Hayley Elsaesser, Christopher Paunil and HENDRIXROE on the runway, while Tara Rivas and WRKDEPTshowcased upcoming collections in the RE\SET™ Studio.

Day Three featured innovative fashion presentations by top Canadian designers Daniel Gregory Natale, WIL Studios and Pedram Karimi.

Set inside the city’s premier luxury retail destination, Yorkville Village (87 Avenue Rd.), the day kicked off with Fashion Talks™, produced in partnership with CAFA™. Host Donna Bishop chatted with the cast of STITCHED with fashion model Kim Cloutier, style expert Joe Zee and ELLE Canada’s Editor-in-Chief Vanessa Craft about Slice’s new fashion competition series. Following the talk, Donna sat down with Dr. Alexandra Palmer, Nora E. Vaughan Senior Curator, Textiles & Costume at the Royal Ontario Museum, on the importance of Fashion and Textile collections for Museums and for its visitors

Daniel Gregory Natale showcased his upcoming collection with a static presentation, while WIL Studios and Pedram Karimi displayed their looks in runway fashion in the RE\SET™ Studio.
